This year and next year, in 2024 and 2025, we will be celebrating two important Thomas Mann anniversaries: 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of Thomas Mann's famous novel "The Magic Mountain", and in 2025 Thomas Mann would have been 150 years old.
Did you know that Katia Mann was treated for what one thought was pulmonary tuberculosis at the Waldhotel Davos (then the Waldsanatorium) in 1912 and that her husband Thomas visited her here several times during her stay at the cure? Together they walked from the Waldsanatorium to the Schatzalp and the author wrote about his impressions in the above-mentioned novel.
Numerous events are being organised in Davos to mark the two anniversaries.
